Hubcar Privacy & Security Policy for Plaid Integration

This policy explains how Hubcar collects, uses, stores, and protects financial data accessed through Plaid for operational and financial management workflows.

Operational use only

Financial data accessed through Plaid is used strictly for reconciliation, reporting, analytics, and operational workflows inside Hubcar.

No credential storage

Hubcar does not collect or store banking login credentials. Authentication is handled securely through Plaid.

User control

Users can connect or disconnect accounts, control which accounts are shared, and request deletion of eligible data.

Hubcar ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users. This Privacy and Security Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect financial data accessed through our integration with Plaid Inc. ("Plaid").

This policy applies to all users of the Hubcar platform, including car rental companies and Turo hosts.

  • We do not use financial data for lending, credit scoring, or marketing purposes.

3. Data Collected via Plaid

Through Plaid, Hubcar may access the following types of data:

  • Bank account information, such as account name, type, and masked account number
  • Account balances
  • Transaction history, including amounts, dates, descriptions, and categories
  • Hubcar does not collect or store your bank login credentials. All authentication is handled securely by Plaid.

4. How We Use Your Data

The data collected via Plaid is used exclusively within the Hubcar platform to:

  • Match transactions to reservations and vehicles
  • Automate bookkeeping and reconciliation workflows
  • Generate financial dashboards and reports
  • Support internal analytics for your business operations
  • We only access the minimum data necessary to provide these features.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Hubcar does not sell, rent, or trade your financial data.

We may share data only in the following cases:

  • With Plaid, to enable the integration and data retrieval
  • With trusted service providers who support our infrastructure under strict confidentiality agreements
  • When required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • All third parties are required to adhere to strict data protection and confidentiality standards.

Hubcar stores financial data securely using industry-standard practices. Data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, and support legitimate business needs.

Users may request deletion of their data at any time, subject to legal or regulatory requirements.

Users maintain full control over their data. You can:

  • Connect or disconnect your financial accounts at any time
  • Control which accounts are shared with Hubcar
  • Request data deletion
  • Disconnecting your account will stop future data access but may affect certain features within the platform.

Hubcar complies with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where applicable

10. Third-Party Policy (Plaid)

By using Plaid, you also agree to Plaid's Privacy Policy. Plaid independently handles authentication and data transmission between your bank and Hubcar.
